Environmental Codes of Conduct

Nature and environment are great divine blessings whose preservation and survival are inextricably linked to human Ire. However, over time, human beings have provide provisions for the destruction of factors of life for many he ing creatures and their environment, through exploitation or misusing natural resources. This exploitation has esca. lated so much so that the threat of loss of biodiversity and nature has now become a global crisis, and it is feared that future generations will face shortage in resources

The ancient land of ran has not been immune to this destructive process as well, and is now in a poor condition

With regard to this condition, the Article 50 of the Consti tution, as a progressive principle, emphasizes respect for the rights of generations of today and future, and consid. ers environment maintenance a public duty and prohib. its any economic activity contrary to the protection of the environment. In addition, the supreme leader emphasizes that "the issue of environment and preservation of natural resources is not on the second degree of significance or a matter of luxury; in fact, it is a vital issue. In our efforts to develop the country, priority must be given to this sector." In light of the significance of this issue, and in reference to Article 68, section (b) of the Fourth Five- Year Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran, ratified in 2004, the National Environment Fund is established with the aim of improving the environmental status of the country, along with conservation and sustainable development of natural resources and biodiversity, and reducing pollution

The National Environment Fund is a good opportunity for people, organizations, banks and other interested natural and legal persons to engage towards unison and concordance on environmental issues at national and international level. In practice, the outcome of the activities of this organization is directing the optimal use of resources towards sustainable development and environment pro-tection

It is hoped that the National Environment Fund, as an accelerator of green technologies and as a supporting body for environmental protection for current and future gener-ations, will play a useful role and initiate effective actions in this area in line with the activities of the Department of Environment

The following contains some rules and regulations regarding the National Environment Fund. The present work is produced with cooperation and collaboration of the respective managers and experts from the National Environment Fund. We hereby appreciate their sincere cooperation
