Introducing the Book "Collection of Requirements for the Work Permit System"

With the growth and development of the oil industry, despite the abundant revenue it brings to our country, it also brings issues and problems for working personnel, society, and the environment, which doubles the necessity of adopting and implementing valid technical and managerial standards in the field of safety, health, and the environment. In this regard, various managerial and technical standards have been used in the oil industry, among the managerial standards being ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. However, as we know, the aforementioned standards in the field of safety, health, and the environment have a completely general approach, such that the specific requirements of a high-hazard industry such as oil have been given little consideration in these standards. Following this, reputable companies and organizations around the world have begun efforts to develop specialized standards for the oil industry, among which is the Permit to Work (P.T.W.) system guideline, prepared and compiled by BP of the United Kingdom. Although this book, as the first translation of the Permit to Work (P.T.W.) system guidelines, deserves appreciation and praise, in the present book, in order to provide a more fluent text of acceptable quality in terms of technical and standard terminology, the translation of these guidelines has been revised, and the result is presented to interested readers in the form of the present book. In translating this book, fidelity to the original text has been the goal, and the original text is also available to interested readers at the end of the book, so that the translation can easily be compared with it.
