Book Review: Confined Space

Every year, millions of workers are exposed to the hazards of confined spaces.
Most confined-space accidents result from asphyxiation, explosion, and poisoning in these places, and in general most of the relevant accidents occur as a result of personnel's lack of awareness of the potential hazards of confined spaces and deficiencies in the entry-permit system; nearly 60% of fatalities have been the result of oxygen deficiency and shortcomings in gas testing of confined spaces.
A noteworthy point is that for every person killed in a confined space, two members of the rescue and emergency operation are also killed.
The present book serves as a complement to safety training courses for personnel, engineers, and technicians, as well as a complement to operating procedures, and is intended only as a guide; it does not replace site operating procedures and risk assessment.
The book on confined spaces, in its opening chapters, addresses the definition of a confined space, its characteristics and hazards, hazardous atmospheres, and so on.
