Introducing the Book "Guide to Water Treatment in Emergency Conditions"

  Although the probability of a crisis occurring is greater in some parts of the world, it can be stated plainly that there is no place in the world that has not, until now, experienced the occurrence of a crisis. Our country, in addition to a high potential for crises such as floods, earthquakes, storms, and so on—owing to its geological, climatic, and geographical conditions—is, because of its geopolitical position, severely exposed to crises arising from human activities and military threats; this matter demonstrates the necessity of precise crisis-management planning and providing the resources needed to prevent these conditions or to reduce the effects caused by crises. Providing resources and proper planning requires education, so the publisher has regarded this book as a step, however small, toward raising the level of awareness on the difficult path of crisis management, and has devoted effort to this end.   The aim of compiling this book is to provide a reference, in plain language, for the general public on how to provide safe water in emergency conditions with access to the minimum available facilities, and an effort has been made to introduce, from among the solutions available in the scientific literature, the most scientific and best options. In many cases, the spread of health problems—especially the problem of providing safe water during and after emergency conditions—is a serious threat to those affected, and outbreaks of infectious diseases caused by consuming contaminated water sometimes become more crisis-generating than the initial crisis.
