The volume of water present on planet Earth has always been, and is, constant. The life of all living creatures such as humans, animals, and plants depends directly on water. Water plays a main and major role not only in drinking and daily tasks but also in solving the problems of industries and in agricultural applications. A human cannot survive several days without food, but without water loses their life much sooner. The waters present on planet Earth are constantly changing form. The waters present on planet Earth are in liquid, gas, and solid forms. Some of this water also seeps into the ground and forms groundwater. The waters of oceans and seas are salty, and using them requires desalination, which requires investment to build desalination facilities. Humans are forced to make do with the freshwater present on land and in the atmosphere. Given the increase in the world's population, the water crisis will be one of the most serious crises in the future, and a nation is successful that can manage it well.
Protect water, because our life depends on water. We must all understand the importance of water in life and the problems we face as a result of water shortage. The government and NGOs must inform people about the importance of water and how to conserve water consumption in daily life. Water is valuable, and we must not waste it. Therefore, in this article some strategies for conserving water consumption will be presented. Although these strategies seem very simple, they will play a very important role in optimizing daily water consumption.
1) When brushing your teeth, do not leave the treated-water tap running.
2) Try to make your showers short. Replace the showerhead with a new type (water-saving showerheads), because in this type of showerhead water is sprayed along with air.
3) For irrigating trees, saplings, bushes, and flowers, use water-saving drip irrigation. Also, in gardens one can use felt to prevent water from seeping into the ground. Separate saplings and trees, which use less water than flowers, from one another; because the water consumption of flowers is greater.
4) For showering in the bathroom, reduce the time to less than 5 minutes, because in this way about 4,000 liters of water will be saved monthly.
It is better, for washing vegetables, to first put them in a container of water and then drain the water, and use the used water for watering potted plants.
5) Installing the cooler in the shade and using a suitable cover and preventing the leakage of water from water coolers causes very great savings in water consumption.
6) When you go on a trip, it is necessary to close the valve and then the water meter to prevent any accident from occurring.
7) It is necessary occasionally to inspect the plumbing of your building. It is recommended to close all the water taps and then check the meter. The meter running while all the taps are closed is a sign of water loss from the building's pipes, as a result of which a large amount of water is wasted and you will pay a large cost on the water bill.
8) Report any notable water loss (broken pipes, open pipes, and water waste at any point) to the water and wastewater public-relations center.
In this article we have examined the reasons for the importance of conserving water. Conserving water consumption not only helps preserve this vital resource but also leads to improving the quality of life and protecting the environment. By adopting correct methods and optimal use of water resources, one can help reduce water loss, prevent water crises, and preserve the sustainability of ecosystems. In general, conserving water consumption requires small and large changes in our daily behaviors. From simple changes such as repairing leaks and using low-consumption equipment, to larger changes such as optimizing irrigation systems and recycling water, each can have great effects on reducing water consumption.
